Vardhaman College, true to its name (“Vardhaman means ‘having potential to grow’) has been growing and growing, in its ceaseless march to realize its vision that “nothing that exists is as sacred as knowledge” (ufg Kkusu ln`’ka ifo=feg fo|rs). In the same context, the college applied for minority status as a Jain Institution, and attained it in November, 2006. The mission of the college is to reach its goal of producing proficient, upright, and dedicated citizens for the nation. The college, therefore, decided to offer itself for assessment by NAAC and has been awarded Grade B+.
In pursuit of its objectives, the college offers a wide range of courses in Arts, Science and Commerce. Though the college is bound to follow the University syllabus, its teachers have been able to bring about changes in the curriculum through their membership of the respective Boards of Studies; the Teaching of Environment Science and Physical Education is compulsory for all disciplines. Value education has been adopted as a constant companion of syllabus teaching. Academic flexibility gets reflected in elective options, and opportunities to migrate from one discipline to another. The feedback mechanism is more informal than formal. This College is also known as V.C.B.
