Dhampur City

Dhampur is a city and a municipal board in bijnor in the state of Western Uttar Pradesh, India. The Moghuls were defeated by Rohillas at Dhampur in 1750. In 1805, Dhampur was sacked by Pindaris. Dhampur is associated with Daaku Sultana, a nineteenth century dacoit (bandit) who was a supporter of the Indian freedom movement, but called dacoit by the British because he destroyed their stations, arms, ammunition and treasury. Vidur Kuti is about 38 km from dhampur and having historical importance. Ganj is about 40km from dhampur and 12 km from District HQ and just 1 km from Daranagar on the banks of the Ganges. There are ancient temples and ashrams.

Economy

Dhampur's economy is based on agriculture, mainly sugarcane, wheat, and rice. *Hand-woven textile items produced by the weavers living in surrounding areas are known for their utility and designs. *The State Government set up a Handloom Intensive Development Project at Dhampur(now closed) and several production centres are located in the area, with its central office headquartered at Kanpur.
One of the sugar producers in India, Dhampur Sugar Mills, is located here.[3] Set up in 1933, Dhampur Sugar Mills is a publicly listed sugar manufacturer, which produces the Dhampure brand of sugar products. Many Khandsari Sugar Mills were located in Dhampur which were a major source of employment to the local people and a great importance to the local economy as these mills provide cash payments to sugarcane farmers. But due to government's inequality policies these mills lost there existence and became a history. Dhampur is 100 km from haridwar and 180 km from Nanitaal thus forming a triangle, between these two important tousrist places. Dhampur Sugar mills is one the lage suger mill in India.

Najibabad



Najibabad City

Najibabad is a pleasant city / partially hill station and a municipal board in Bijnor district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It has a railway junction and is one of the administrative blocks of the Bijnor district. It is well connected to all major cities of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand via NH 119 and NH 74. Mandawar ka Mahal



The Queen Victoria of England was taught both Urdu and Farsi by Munshi Ali. Hence, Queen Victoria constructed the ‘Mandawar ka Mahal’ in 1850 and gifted it to Munshi Ali. About 8 kilometers from this Mahal on the Mandawar Blawali Road close to village Kundanpur there exists a famous temple called Galkha Devi. Vardhman Degree College Bijnor

Vardhaman College, Bijnor is situated in Bijnor of Uttar Pradesh state (Province) in India.
Vardhaman College, Bijnor established by the Vardhaman Educational Society, new Delhi, in 1960, began as an affiliated college of Agra University; and since the constitution of Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, it has been functioning as an institution affiliated to this university (presently called M.J.P. Rohilkhand University). This first degree college of Bijnor district started with B.A., B.Sc., and B.T (B.Ed.) courses in 1960; moved on to include B.Com in 1963; introduced P.G. in 09 subjects in 1961, and in 1963.
Later the college, one of the three biggest colleges of the university, went in further extension, starting courses in M.Sc. Zoology and Chemistry, and B.Sc. Computer Science. This college has been recognized as a major centre of research work in the various disciplines. The college is recognized by the UGC under 2 (f) and 12 (b).

Bijnor

District Bijnor is related to Mahabharat.There is a Vidur kuti which is about 12 km from Bijnor and having historical importance. In the time of Mughal emperor Akbar, Bijnor formed part of the Mughal Empire. However, in the early part of the 18th century, the Rohilla Pashtuns established their independence in the country called by them Rohilkhand. 1748 the Rohilla chief Ali Mohammed Khan made his first annexations in Bijnor, the rest of which soon fell under the Rohilla domination.

Chaudhary Charan Singh : Presidents and Prime Ministers

Chaudhary Charan Singh was born into a jat family Noorpur Dist. Hapur in 23 December 1902.  He was a good student, and got a Masters of Arts degree in 1925 and Law degree in 1926 from Agra University. He started practice as a Civil Lawyer at Ghaziabad in 1928. In February 1937 he was elected Chhaprouli (Baghpat) to the Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh (United Provinces) at the age of 34. In 1938 he introduced an Agricultural Produce Market Bill in the Assembly which was published in the issues of The Hindustan Times of Delhi dated 31 March 1938. The Bill was intended to safeguard the interests of the farmers against the rapacity of the traders. The Bill was adopted by most of the States in India, Punjab being the first state to do so in 1940.In 1952, he became the Revenue Minister of state of Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in independent India. He was dedicated to enforcing and implementing the provisions of the Zamindari Abolition and Land Reform Act of which he was the major architect.
